C
oastal Adventures is Atlantic Canada’s foremost sea kayaking operation and 2008 is our 27th year of offering coastal paddling excursions. Check out what we have to offer through the descriptions, photographs, and articles in our web site and find the sea kayaking adventures for you.

TOURS
During our extended trips (up to 8 days) we visit all the distinct coastal regions of Atlantic Canada. An emphasis is placed on the unique biology, geology and human history of this fascinating environment where the land meets the sea. Kayaking at a relaxing pace along the shores and among the islands, you will camp in remote coves and cook gourmet meals over open campfires. It is an ideal way to escape from the routines and pressures of everyday life. For longer outings, and a chance to experience different regions of our diverse coastline, you can easily combine two separate tours. We also offer Inn to Inn, Pack and Paddle, and All Women tours. No prior experience is required for most trips.

INTRODUCTION TO SEA KAYAKING

Do you want to try out the sport but your time is limited? Then come on one of our guided excursions (half day or full day) among the deserted Atlantic Coastal Islands, a world class paddling destination.

INSTRUCTION
Coastal Adventures is also a Canadian leader in sea kayaking instruction and we run a variety of courses through our Sea Kayaking School. There is something for every taste and skill level, from beginner to advanced. Our courses lead to certification with Paddle Canada (formerly the Canadian Recreational Canoeing Association) and the British Canoe Union (BCU). We also certify instructors with Paddle Canada and sea kayaking guides under the Association of Eastern Canadian Sea Kayaking Outfitters (AECSKO). In addition to our own staff, we also bring in outside experts to add to the quality of the program.

SPECIALTY PROGRAMING

Do you have an outdoor club, a school class, a meeting, or a conference (e.g., we are less than an hour from Halifax) looking for an exciting outdoor experience? Are you planning for a unique family reunion? Or do our dates and destinations not correspond with your vacation plans? We are very flexible and can organize an itinerary outside our regular schedule. Contact us for suggestions.

RENTALS
For those who prefer to travel on their own, we have a large Rental fleet of single and double sea kayaks. These include many different models from various well known manufacturers (e.g. Wilderness Systems, Current Designs, Necky, Perception, Dagger, P&H, Valley).

BED AND BREAKFAST

Prior to your trip you can stay at our Paddlers’ Retreat Bed & Breakfast - a former fisherman’s home overlooking the islands of Shoal Bay.
