From our base in Tangier, along the province's rugged Eastern Shore, we will instruct you in choosing the right type of kayak for you. Several different models, both singles and doubles, will be available. Instruction will be given in the basic paddling strokes and the fundamentals of a safe and enjoyable sea kayaking trip. During our journey we will explore the sheltered offshore islets and islands, and a fascinating world where the land meets the sea. Beginners are welcome and no prior experience is needed. |

When the Europeans first came to our shores in search of our once abundant cod, they settled along the coast and in many cases on the offshore islands.Although these early settlers have long since departed to the comforts of the mainland, scattered remnants of this other era remain. You will find mostly solitude, though, in a rugged and pristine wilderness far from any crowds, where a winding journey will take you to remote sea bird colonies, over thick kelp beds and into idyllic coves where few other vessels dare to venture. Regardless of the weather conditions you can find a sheltered route and
an idyllic lunch spot with a juxtaposition of natural and human history,

COASTAL
ADVENTURES will introduce you to the untapped
wilderness of the varied coastline of Nova Scotia during these half day
and day long sea kayaking trips. Our friendly and experienced guides will
help you to discover the unique biology, geology and human history of
this coastal wilderness far from the summer bustle. 
This
narrow band of isolated outposts stretches the entire length of the coastline.
There are litterally hundreds, some so tiny that they scarcely breath
air at high water; others cover hundreds of acres. Some are carpeted with
dense coastal spruce, many are barren, but all have a character and a
story of their own.
